Where exactly is CDIC located?
CDIC is a tech-driven driving school, and most of our courses are completed online for flexibility and convenience. For students who need in-person services, we offer select sessions at scheduled locations across Richmond.

At what age can you obtain a Learner's Permit or Driver's License in Virginia?
Teens are able to apply for a Virginia Learner’s Permit at the age of 15 years old and six months. At age 16 years and 3 months, teens can officially become licensed through our Driver’s Education program (to include 36-hours of classroom instruction and 14 in-car sessions – 7 driving and 7 observing)
How do I get my Virginia Driver's License?
Adults 18+
Option 1
Obtain a Learner’s Permit
Take and pass a Driver Education classroom/online course
Complete 7 hours of required Behind-The-Wheel training
Student will be issued an “Adult Waiver” to take to DMV to receive Driver’s License
Option 2
Obtain a Learner’s Permit and hold it for 60 days
Complete the DMV Maneuver Form
Take the Road Skills Test at DMV
Teens Under 18 Years Old
Obtain Learner’s Permit (must be 15 and 6 months)
Take and pass a Driver Education classroom course
Complete 7 hours of required Behind-The-Wheel training and 7 hours of observation
Hold Learner’s Permit for 9 months
Student will be issued a temporary Driver’s License.
